Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has launched Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana Housing Scheme for low-income families, the main objective of which is to provide loans to citizens in easy instalments at a low interest rate of 5% to 7% so that they can build a safe haven for their family, i.e. the house of their dreams. This government-sponsored housing scheme will follow the principle of providing loans ranging from Rs 2 million to Rs 10 million to Pakistani citizens on easy terms. The government has directed the concerned banks to provide loans to applicants on these terms so that they can build a house for their family.
Who can apply for Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana Scheme?
- Pakistani citizens who do not have a house before or citizens holding a Pakistani identity card who own a house before.
- Pakistani identity card holders who have their own plot but do not have the capacity/capital to build their own house on it.
- Pakistani citizens who want to buy a flat or buy a property after construction.
- Apllicant’s minimum age limit is 20 years and maximum age limit is 60 Years.
- Minimum income should be 40000/ per month.
- Size of housing unit and maximum loan limit
Housing Unit Size:
- 5 Marla House
- Flat or Apartment up to 1500 sq ft
Maximum Loan Limit:
- Tier 1 (T-1) = Up to Rs 2.0 million
- Tier 2 (T-2) = Up to Rs 2.0 million to Rs 10 million
Mera Ashiana Loan Tenure:
Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana Loan Tenure is 20 years. But subsidy will be available only for 10 years of loan. After 10 years, the reverse lending rate of banks will be applicable.
Interest Rate on Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana Housing Scheme Loan
Tier-1
Loan up to Rs 2.5 million (for 20 years) will attract 5% interest rate for the first 10 years and from the 11th year the interest rate will be 3% + 1 year KIBOR
Tier-2:
Loan from 2 . 5Million to Rs 10 million will attract 8 % interest rate for the first 10 years and from 11th years it will be calculated as 3% +1 year KIBOR .
Important Note: Subsidy will be applicable only for 10 years of loan. Thereafter, normal mark-up rates of banks will apply.
Mera Ashiana House Financing Scheme Bank Charges
Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana Housing Scheme Bank Charges: There are no charges for applying for this housing scheme, it is absolutely free. No charges (penalty) will be levied on prepayment.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities and the banks to make process of loan approval and disbursement to the applicants easier. All the designated banks have been directed by Government and State Bank of Pakistan to arrange special help desks for Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana Scheme’s applicants to guide them.

- For Salaries Person
Following documents will be required if you are a salaried person and want to apply for Mera Ashiana House financing scheme.
• Application Form along with CF Undertaking
• Valid CNIC of applicant and Co- applicant
• 1 Passport size color photographs of applicant and Co-applicant
• Undertaking of first time home owner (You have no home owned )
• Proof of allotment, transfer and title document of the property to be mortgaged
• Service/ employment proof / employment letter or certificate
• Current salary slip
• Salary certificate and 6-month Bank statement with salary credits - For Formal Sector Employee
• Maximum 60 days old salary slip & Bank statement
• Online salary slips with verification or original salary slip - Informal Sector Employees
If you are employed in informal sector one of the following documents shall be required ;

• Rent payment declaration
• School Fee Challan
• Any other valid expense documents
